CripCoop was created after a casual Bluesky chat between Emily Goss and Kristin Houlihan. Both loved the idea of a cooperative for chronically ill and disabled people so we could swap skills and support each other. So, we thought, why not create it?
A Bluesky post led to lots of people connecting and as a result, this website was created. Want to join? Search the #CripCoop hashtag on Bluesky to find people to connect with. Share your needs and add your skills to this Bluesky thread. You are now part of #CripCoop.
There are no obligations, no rules (other than ‘support each other as you are able’) and no money changes hands. You can join even if you can’t give support – CripCoop is for all chronically ill and disabled people, not just those who are able to help others (sharing social media posts would be appreciated).
You can also discover great books written by Chronically Ill and Disabled (CIAD) people, along with interviews and information on writing competitions/funding/other opportunities at Ciadish.co.uk.
